My Sherlock Timeline

About a week ago, BBC posted this Sherlock Season 4 trailer...

... and I'm pretty sure every Sherlock fan went "ASKjdnfakjsbfkbnasfnioASNOFOSAFISADKLmnvnadnfksadlfnasf OMFG LKASJFJKNSKJFNKJSNFKJ Sherlock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LKANDFKJLNAPW)ehfujadjfasfj MORIARTY?!?!?!??!?!??!?!?!?! AKsjiudfhnadfiuaskfdsfahjsbffiooef!!!"

The catch is... it won't be shown until January 2017! And do you know when the last episode of Sherlock was? That cliffhanger episode? January 2014!!! By the time Season 4 is shown, Sherlock fans would have waited for three solid years. Saken okay lang. Sanay naman akong maghintay. #KelanganMayHugot

But I had to look back. Season 1 was shown in July 2010.  I just graduated from college back then and was taking advantage of the "Hey I need vacation before I start working" card. That time, I didn't even know that I didn't know how the real world goes. Ha. And there were times when I want to go back that state.

2012 was a year of many beginnings for me. When Season 2 was shown in January, I was about to start in my (already) second job and move back to Quezon City (the first job was in Pasay). I am very grateful for the things that I've learned from my first job (that ranges from operating a fax machine to speaking publicly) but the most apt would probably be: sometimes, people leave you (and you're going to be okay)... but sometimes, you're the one who leaves (and that's okay).

The end of Season 2 was epic, and we waited two years for that! January 2014. Tagal na nun! It was my fourth semester in grad school and I was a full-time student. I didn't have a job... but... wait for it... I had a lovelife. (Emphasis had. Tapos teka, nadinig niyo yun? Sound of my heart shattering. Chos!) I wasn't able to experience much in college, and grad school gave me a second chance to do that. I survived college mostly alone, but grad school proved that there are people who are more than willing to help you make your journey easier- sometimes you just have to ask (or not).

See how many crucial life events have happened to me all through-out those three Sherlock seasons?! Now I wonder, what would my January 2017 look like? I'm not really sure(lock). Hihi.

Review: The Coffee Project

I am not the kind of person who needs a coffee fix in the morning. I have never craved for coffee. I can survive a day without caffeine in my system. And yet, I often hang-out in coffee shops. My friends and I had reminisced for and created new memories in coffee shops. I finished several group projects in coffee shops. I wrote two papers about poverty while chugging on overpriced coffee drinks (ironic, I know).

Since I am no expert in identifying which has better coffee drinks, my consideration in choosing a coffee shop really largely depends on the ambiance of place. If you are like me, then I think you would like The Coffee Project.

The exterior of The Coffee Project in Quezon City is just right. You will probably have the same reaction as I had: Eto na 'yun? But wait for it, just one step inside and that reaction will be immediately be replaced with just one word: Wow! I was too afraid to take pictures because I was so sure that my crappy cellphone camera won't do it any justice. But honestly, I believe that the word Instagram-mable was coined perfectly for places like The Coffee Project.

The tables weren't too close with each other, giving us enough space to mind our own business and converse in decent loudness. I even saw some students reading their textbooks in the shop. It helps that there's free Wi-Fi and that laptops can be charged in the electric sockets located around the shop. The music loudness, the lighting, and the temperature inside are just right.

There are lots of quotable quotes (and funny puns) about coffee all-around the place.

Do not expect too much from the food and drinks though. I had the Penne Carbonara and it wasn’t that great. I have yet to try the Sardine Pasta which from what I heard tastes very good. I ordered Ice-Blended Green Matcha during my first visit and it wasn’t available so I ended up getting Sea Caramel Frappe.  The presentation was satisfactory, but I was expecting it to be a little more caramel-y.

During my second visit, I again ordered Ice-Blended Green Matcha but it was still unavailable (like really, why). I however enjoyed the Iced Vietnamese drink. The Salted Caramel Cheesecake is the bomb! Quite pricey, but so worth the money!

The Coffee Project in Vista Place QC is just right across the ABS-CBN Audience Entrance. It was located at the Ground Floor, Wil Tower, Eugenio Lopez Drive (very near Tomas Morato). If you’re commuting, you may either take a short walk or ride a tricycle from the MRT Quezon Avenue station. The shop opens at 7 in the morning and closes at 11PM. I think they extend the hours during weekends to 1AM. And oh, by the way, the other branches are in Starmall Alabang, AllHome Imus, Vista Mall Sta. Rosa, Vista Mall Pampanga, and Vista Mall Balanga.

Because I'm Too Bummed Out to Write a Real Blog Post

1. What did you do in 2015 that you’d never done before?
Travel alone! I was able to tour around Davao for a day... alone.

2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I did not make a list last year. I probably won't make a list for this year too. But... this really sounds like a good idea:

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! My cousin-in-law and a friend from grad school.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope.

5. What countries did you visit?
None. :(

6. What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015?
Free time.

7. What date from 2015 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Not really an exact date but I will always remember March 2015 because I had two heartbreaks that month.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Moving on from 1 of those two heartbreaks. Haha!

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not overcoming procrastination.

Nothing serious. I had a small wound in my left foot when we tried cliff-diving in Guimaras. But it was worth it!

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My sister and I bought a TV and my downloaded 1080p movies were finally put into good use.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
All those people who did nice things to other people even if no one's around.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
All those people who did bad things to other people especially if no one's around.

14. Where did most of your money go?
FOOD! Food. And have I already mentioned food?

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Paychecks! Huhuhu, #alipinngsalapi #sorrynotsorry

16. What song will always remind you of 2015?

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favorite TV program(s)?

Yes. Not because he's changed, but because he wasn't in my life yet this time last year. Also, I shouldn't really be hating him.

26. What was the best book you read?
I was surprised when I realized that I haven't finished any book this year. I started reading The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August, The Girl on the Train, and Dark Places but I wasn't able to finish all of them.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Justin Bieber's Purpose album. The Biebs may be one of the biggest a**holes to ever exist, but his song are actually great.

28. What did you want and get?
I wanted to finish my pre-print paper to be able to finally get my Master's degree. I did- with the help of a lot of people, particularly my adviser and my boss that time.

Also, I've always dreamed of a fast internet connection. We currently enjoy a decent internet connection.

29. What did you want and not get?
On the first half of the year, I badly wanted to get back together with someone. That someone doesn't love me anymore and didn't want the same... so I remembered wanting to have another relationship immediately. I didn't get that either.

Einstein: A Must-See Documentary

I have no interest in Physics, but I am aware of his vast contribution to the field and how it had changed our view of the universe. Einstein. The image of a genius. It has always made me wonder how the mind of people like him works. This documentary might not give all the answers about how his worked, but for me, it has given me a lot of insights and whoah moments. Actually regretting not taking many Psych cognate courses in college! Haha.

Overplayed is just a state of mind...

For a few weeks now, I have been playing ONLY One Direction's Little Things all day long. What is wrong with me? Hahaha. Yet I realized that this is not the first time this has happened. Uhmmm, *cough* You're Still the One (Lee DeWzye's version) *cough* and ofcourse, *cough* the mash-up of I Feel Pretty and Unpretty of Lea Michel and Dianna Agron *cough*. When you find a song really beautiful and captivating... I think "overplayed" is just a state of mind.
